The Clos des Mouches Beaune Premier Cru is one of the mythical wines of the Maison Joseph Drouhin, famous domain of Burgundy.
The vines, whose average age is 40 years old, are planted on a gently sloping, mid-slope plot in the extreme south of the Beaune appellation near Pommard.
This 1er Cru, made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, is grown in biodynamic culture, using only natural products!
For Véronique Boss-Drouhin, this 2018 vintage is an exceptional wine. The dress is a beautiful deep ruby red, with all the brightness of the great Burgundy. The nose is both intense and fresh for young wines. The primary notes of red fruits dominate: blackberries, morello cherries, raspberries. The complexity emerges with nuances of smoke, evolving towards licorice. With maturity, a small grain of pepper and a note of brown tobacco, very racy, aromas of humus and undergrowth. In the mouth, a frank attack, clean, fleshy. Firmness without harshness, density without heaviness. A great freshness for young wines. With age, the wine stops and grows fat and relief, with a soy texture spread by the tannins. He is alive and very noble. A feeling of fullness and balance, with the whole race of tannins.
You can, right now, enjoy this great Burgundy wine or keep it for several decades in the cellar.
The advice of 12bouteilles: It will be perfect served with red meat, Poultry or noble cheese. To serve at a temperature of 16°C, decant at least 2h before tasting
