Charente -Hennessy XO (Extra Old) is an icon of the cognac world, first created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for a circle of close friends and connoisseurs. It was the first cognac ever to bear the "XO" label, ushering in a new era of aged, opulent, and powerful eaux-de-vie. Composed of around 100 different eaux-de-vie aged between 10 and 30 years, it represents the very essence of Hennessy's heritage, complexity, and artisanal mastery.
Appearance: Deep mahogany with copper and amber hues. A thick, slow-falling texture hints at its richness and maturity.
Nose: Generous, layered, and evocative. Notes of dried fruits—figs, prunes—mingle with candied orange peel, bitter cocoa, cinnamon, and pepper. As it breathes, additional aromas of leather, polished wood, and blond tobacco emerge, creating an intricate and luxurious bouquet.
