Famille Hugel: Riesling Estate 2012
Riesling Estate 2012 is a white wine made by the Hugel family in Riquewihr in Alsace in the most prestigious vintages. Made from 100% Riesling, a demanding varietal, the grapes were harvested by hand so that they arrive intact in the press. The terroir of Riquewihr has the particularity of offering minerality to Riesling, usually dry and racy.
This 2012 vintage has a bright color with light green hints of spring, slender, with silver highlights. The nose is expressive, fresh and fruity with notes of white peach, lemongrass, grapefruit, ginger. We also note floral scents of almond blossoms. In the mouth, it is a fresh and refreshing riesling, well balanced and fruity.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Still a little young, this wine still deserves 1 to 2 years of guard to gain in complexity. It will go wonderfully with fish, grilled or in sauce as well as slightly spicy dishes such as chicken curry.
