E. Guigal : Château d'Ampuis Côte Rôtie 2018

Rhone Valley - Côte-Rôtie - Red Wine -

The Chateau d'Ampuis is a marvel signed by the E. Guigal house. The 2018 vintage of Château d'Ampuis is a wine whose nose gives off aromas as diverse as they are powerful, dominated by black fruits such as cherries, then notes of toasted vanilla take over. On the palate, the attack is woody with powerful tannins, volume and impressive richness.

What makes the uniqueness and grandeur of this magnificent wine is, among other things, its composition of 7 exceptional terroirs from the Côte Blonde (Le Clos, La Garde, La Grande Plantée) and the Côte Brune ( La Pommière, Le Pavillon Rouge, Le Moulin) and La Viria very sparse plots.

The average age of the vines is 50 years, they extend over approximately 8 hectares for an average yield of 37Hl / Hectare.

Visual: Dark and deep color

Taste: Tannic and racy wine. Aromas of black fruits and vanilla, with toasted notes. Its tannic structure and elegant nobility give it great aging potential.

The advice of 12bouteilles : it should ideally be served between 16°C and 18°C. The vinification is done in closed stainless steel vats, the vatting time is 3 weeks. The unique aging is 38 months in new oak barrels.
