E.Guigal : Château d'Ampuis Côte Rôtie 2015
Rhone Valley - Côte-Rôtie - Red Wine -Château d'Ampuis 2015 is a marvel signed by the E.Guigal house. For Marcel and Philippe Guigal, son and grandson of the founder Etienne Guigal it is probably one of the greatest vintage produced at Château d'Ampuis, the family's historic estate.
Aged 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier, the vines used to produce this Château d'Ampuis 2015 date back to some of the 16th century.
This Côte Rôtie is composed, among others, of 7 exceptional terroirs coming from the Blonde Coast: Le Clos, La Garde, La Plantée and the Côte Brune: La Pommière, Le Pavillon Rouge, Le Moulin, La Viria ... This is the uniqueness and grandeur of this magnificent wine from the Rhone Valley.
This 2015 vintage just out of the cellars of the house is simply extra-ordinary, the tasters have not yet returned their copies but no doubt about the upcoming ratings!
It presents a beautiful dark and deep dress with mauve reflections. The nose, intense and expressive, releases aromas of spices and black fruits with delicate notes of wood. Tannic and racy, the palate expresses aromas of prunes, blackberries and vanilla. A powerful wine, concentrated and structured with very strong tannins but softened by a prolonged ripening 38 months was oaks.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Château d'Ampuis 2015 is an exceptional wine from the house that amateurs are going to snatch up. It's a very great wine with impressive aging potential. Serve between 16 ° C and 18 ° C with game, red meat or cheese. Open at least one hour before tasting.
