Flor de Pingus 2023 is an exceptional red wine from Spain’s iconic Ribera del Duero, serving as the second wine of the celebrated Pingus estate. This cuvée showcases a refined expression of Tinta Fina (Tempranillo) with precision, elegance and concentrated depth. The 2023 vintage stands out for its remarkable balance between ripe fruit intensity, freshness and fine tannins.
Appearance: deep, luminous purple.
Nose: intense and layered, with ripe black fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant), black cherry, violet floral notes, sweet spice (licorice, pepper), cedar and tobacco. Perfectly integrated toasted and vanilla nuances from oak aging complete the aromatic profile.
Palate: broad, structured and refined. The textured core displays ripe, elegant tannins supported by fresh acidity and a persistent, layered finish that keeps the fruit prominent.
Grapes for Flor de Pingus 2023 come from meticulously selected parcels in Ribera del Duero’s calcareous and gravel soils, where continental climate and wide temperature swings promote slow, complete ripening. The blend is dominated by Tempranillo (Tinta Fina), expressing purity, aromatic intensity and silky structure.
Hand-harvested grapes with strict sorting. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with controlled maceration for elegance, finesse and depth. Aged in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new wood, adding complexity without overshadowing the fruit.
Fantastic with grilled or roasted red meats, mature beef fillet, lamb chops, game stews or refined sauced dishes. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant for 1–2 hours to fully reveal its aromatic layers.
Flor de Pingus 2023 is a rich and refined wine, combining power, finesse and length. While already captivating after aeration, it offers excellent aging potential and will develop complex tertiary nuances (smoke, forest floor, cocoa and spice) over 10–15 years of cellaring while retaining freshness and balance.
