Tasting notes:
The robe: is adorned with a beautiful bright purple colour accompanied by ruby reflections
The nose: offers a sublime fruity bouquet which opens a basket of small red fruits with strawberry, cherry as well as black fruits (blackcurrant, blueberry)
The palate: reveals a very lively wine, perfectly structured and full of freshness. The mid-palate promises a nice fleshiness with supple tannins and fine grain. On the finish, this wine flows with harmony and confirms this very fruity side that we feel in the nose with a long and elegant passage.
The advice of 12bouteilles: This great red wine of Burgundy will go perfectly with fish (red tuna, salmon), poultry or in a dessert with cooked cheese as the gouda. It has an ageing potential of 4 to 5 years, we advise you to serve it at a temperature of 16°C.
Domaine Thierry Mortet was founded in 1992 following the dissolution of Domaine Mortet Charles & Fils which belonged to Thierry's father and was shared between him and his brother Denis. Today they exploit an area of 8.5 hectares located in the centre of the village of Gevrey Chambertin between Dijon and Nuits-Saint-Georges where the work of the vine is carried out through reasoned agriculture. The domain aims to offer elegant wines of limited production, which express with sincerity the characteristics of the variety of the greatest terroirs of Burgundy.
