With the "Mes Grands Lieux" 2016 cuvée, Stéphane Ogier signs a masterful synthesis of the best terroirs of Ampuis. A blend of the estate's historic plots (Bodin, Bertholon, Viallière...), this wine embodies the Ogier style: precision, purity, and elegance. The 2016 vintage, classic and balanced, offers a "lace-like" Côte-Rôtie.
This 97% Syrah, 3% Viognier wine comes from a mosaic of soils (schist and granite) from the estate's best vineyard sites, combining the structure of the Côte Brune with the finesse of the Côte Blonde.
Terroir: 73% Brune - mica schist / 27% Blonde - granite and gneiss
Parcel-based - blend of 11 vineyard sites: Leyat: 16% / Lancement: 15% / But de Mont: 12% / Montmain: 12% Le Champon: 10% / La Viallière: 9% / Fongeant: 7% / Cognet: 6% Côte Bodin: 5% / Côte-Rôzier: 5% / Bertholon: 3%
Precision viticulture and severe sorting. Partial whole-cluster fermentation. Long aging (18-24 months) in oak barrels with moderate use of new wood.
This great wine will perfectly enhance roasted pigeon, lamb noisette with thyme, or wild duck with spices.
The 2016 vintage is entering its ideal drinking window. Enjoy now after decanting for **1 to 2 hours**, or cellar for another 10 years.
