Domaine Stéphane Ogier : Le Temps est Venu 2024 Red

Rhone Valley - Côtes du Rhône - Red Wine -

Stéphane Ogier and Le Temps est Venu

Stéphane Ogier joined his family estate in Ampuis in 1997 and gradually expanded beyond its historic Côte-Rôtie vineyards. With Le Temps est Venu, he ventures into the Southern Rhône to work with Grenache alongside Syrah. This Côtes du Rhône combines 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, mainly from vineyards around Violès, between Plan de Dieu and Visan. Limestone pebbles over blue clay produce an expressive, fresh and immediately approachable red.

Le Temps est Venu 2024

The 2024 vintage places particular emphasis on bright fruit and suppleness. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified as whole bunches in temperature-controlled concrete vats using indigenous yeasts. Ageing for 10 months in concrete, without oak influence, preserves the freshness and vibrant fruit character of the wine. The result is a medium-bodied, balanced Côtes du Rhône designed to provide immediate drinking pleasure.

Tasting

The colour is clear, bright ruby. Blackcurrant, black cherry and red berries combine with violet, pepper and garrigue on the nose. The palate is supple and juicy, with silky tannins, excellent freshness and a clean, gently spicy and liquorice-tinged finish. Grenache provides generosity and fruit, while Syrah contributes freshness and structure.

12bouteilles recommendation

Le Temps est Venu 2024 is exactly the kind of Côtes du Rhône we like to recommend: generous fruit and immediate pleasure at a very accessible price. It is already delicious and can be enjoyed through 2032. Serve slightly cool at around 15-16°C with garlic and rosemary roast lamb, grilled meat or charcuterie.

FAQ – Stéphane Ogier Le Temps est Venu 2024 Red

How good is Stéphane Ogier Le Temps est Venu 2024?

Le Temps est Venu 2024 received 91/100 from Jeb Dunnuck and 90/100 from Vinous. Jeb Dunnuck highlights its juicy red and dark fruit, peppery garrigue, floral character and excellent balance. Vinous notes black pepper, blackberry, a supple medium-bodied palate and a refined, spicy finish.

When should you drink Le Temps est Venu 2024?

Jeb Dunnuck gives Le Temps est Venu 2024 a drinking window of 2026 to 2032. This wine is designed to be enjoyed relatively young, while its fruit, freshness and supple tannins remain particularly expressive. Extended cellaring is therefore unnecessary. Serve slightly cool, ideally at around 15-16°C.

Which vintage of Le Temps est Venu should you drink in 2026?

Le Temps est Venu 2024 is the vintage to choose in 2026 for its bright fruit, supple texture and immediate accessibility. Rated 91/100 by Jeb Dunnuck and 90/100 by Vinous, it already has the balance required for immediate drinking while offering ageing potential through 2032.

What wine goes with garlic and rosemary roast lamb?

Garlic and rosemary roast lamb calls for a fruity, spicy red with enough freshness to balance the richness of the meat. Le Temps est Venu 2024 works particularly well through its generous Grenache fruit, garrigue and dark-fruit character and the freshness provided by Syrah. Serve at around 15-16°C. It is also an excellent match for grilled meat.

How does Le Temps est Venu differ from Stéphane Ogier’s Côte-Rôtie wines?

Le Temps est Venu is a Southern Rhône Côtes du Rhône led by Grenache, whereas Stéphane Ogier’s Côte-Rôtie wines are based on Syrah. Its 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah blend produces a more immediately generous and supple style. Ten months of ageing in concrete also preserves pure fruit without adding oak character.
