Domaine Stéphane Ogier : Le Temps est Venu 2024 White

Rhone Valley - Côtes du Rhône - White Wine -

Stéphane Ogier and Le Temps est Venu Blanc

Based in Ampuis, Stéphane Ogier joined the family estate in 1997 and gradually expanded beyond the Northern Rhône vineyards on which his reputation was built. Le Temps est Venu Blanc explores the Southern Rhône through its traditional white grape varieties. The 2024 combines Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette, Marsanne and Bourboulenc in a generous yet fresh Côtes du Rhône. The fruit comes notably from vineyards in Visan, where the terroir helps preserve freshness and aromatic definition.

The 2024 vintage

Le Temps est Venu Blanc 2024 focuses on brightness and balance rather than sheer richness. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in temperature-controlled concrete vats using indigenous yeasts. Six months of ageing in concrete preserve aromatic purity and freshness without adding oak influence. The different Rhône varieties contribute to a balanced combination of roundness, floral expression, fruit and tension.

Tasting

The colour is bright golden with subtle green highlights. White fruit, citrus, white flowers and fresh almond define the nose. The palate is generous and rounded while retaining excellent freshness, leading to a mineral, gently saline finish. The wine remains balanced and precise, with enough body and texture to work particularly well at the table.

12bouteilles recommendation

Le Temps est Venu Blanc 2024 already offers plenty of drinking pleasure through its balance of roundness and freshness. We favour drinking it between 2026 and 2030. Serve at around 10-12°C with cod en papillote, herb-roasted chicken or grilled fish.
