Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Black, opaque, impenetrable with inky highlights.
- Nose: Dark and complex: iron, hot stone, coffee, wild blackberry, and leather. Notes of game and strong spices emerge with air.
- Palate: Massive and coating. Tight, noble tannins. Typical ferrous minerality and an endless finish.
Terroir & Blend
This 100% Syrah comes from the famous Côte Brune site. The iron-rich mica-schist soil gives the wine its "sanguine" character.
Vinification & Aging
High proportion of whole clusters for structure. Long aging with moderate use of new oak to let the terroir speak.
Food & Wine Pairing
Perfect with Hare à la Royale, venison stew, dry-aged ribeye, or wild boar.
