Loire - Menetou Salon - White Wine -In this 2023 vintage, Domaine Jean Teiller presents Menetou-Salon Expression Blanc, a refined expression of the AOP Menetou-Salon, which reveals the full character of its exceptional slopes. Here is the tasting we conducted:
The Appearance: a brilliant gold yellow, enhanced by delicate green reflections.
The Nose: powerful and expressive, unveiling a palette of citrus, peach, and white flowers.
The Palate: fresh and structured, with a crisp attack, a beautiful minerality, and a balanced finish.
This 2024 vintage of Menetou-Salon Expression Blanc is made from Sauvignon Blanc, grown on an area of 9 ha, including 3.5 ha of old vines over 20 years old, planted on a dominating shallow clay-limestone soil. These vines are located on the slopes of the communes of Menetou-Salon, Parassy, Vignoux-sous-les-Aix, and Aubinges, benefiting from an optimal microclimate for ideal grape ripeness.
The harvest, carried out manually at optimal ripeness around mid-September, is followed by filling the press with a mat and slow, gentle pneumatic pressing, helping to limit the extraction of vegetal compounds. The fermentation is temperature-regulated in each tank for 8 to 10 weeks, followed by aging composed of 95% cuvée and 5% oak barrel. Bottling, performed with the utmost care from March onward, preserves the authenticity and freshness of this wine, which is certified Organic and Biodynamic (Biodyvin).
