The 2019 Pommard from Jean Marc and Thomas Bouley is an exemplary wine of finesse and elegance. This Pinot Noir comes from 3 parcels spread over only 68 acres in the appellation.
The wines are aged for 20 months in oak barrels with only 30% new barrels to avoid marking the wines.
Tasting notes : Jean-Marc and Thomas Bouley : Pommard 2019
The dress : Deep red
The nose : intense, fruity and spicy, firm
The Palate : The tannins are firmer than in Volnay, the wines will be great in a few years. Impressive depth and precision.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Domaine Coup de coeur in Volnay, Pommard of the domain are marvels. It is a perfect wine of balance and finesse.
About the Domaine Jean Marc and Thomas Bouley :
From father to son for many generations, the Bouley family has cultivated the vineyards of Volnay. Since 1919, the estate has been passed down through the family, with Thomas running the estate with his father Jean Marc since 2002. It is recognized among the great of Volnay for years. Wines of references.
The production is essentially of red wines, spread over the villages of Volnay, Pommard and Beaune. A single plot of white wine, Bourgogne Aligoté, is produced in the village of Meursault. Burgundy has the particularity of having a very fragmented vineyard. To date, the domain exploits 29 parcels representing 8.8 hectares of vines.
The terroir is the heart of the project, the domain looks for the best expression of each parcel in each cuvée and with cuvées where the fruit remains king, where the structure, the finesse and the roundness are perfectly balanced. An example of great wines accessible in Burgun
