Burgundy - Charmes-Chambertin - Grand Cru - Red Wine -This Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru is a magnificent achievement signed by Fabien Coche and accurately reflects the elegant and structured framework of these high quality wines. A great vintage of Burgundy which is among the most successful of the Charmes Chambertin appellation in 2020.
This vintage is made from 100% Pinot Noir, an emblematic grape variety of Bourgogne and produced through sustainable agriculture.
The sight presents a nice ruby color, bright and slightly dark.
The nose reveals a subtle elegance with a great aromatic richness where the aromas of red fruits (wild strawberry, raspberry) and black fruits (red currant) are particularly present.
The palate offers to the palate a powerful wine, carried on the smoothness which is characterized by an elegant and suave wine. We find magnificent notes of blackcurrant, licorice as well as a slight spicy side, typical of the greatest Pinot Noir. The mid-palate is marked by a great suppleness and unctuousness which reigns in harmony. The finish reveals a beautiful length leaving us without end.
The domain was created in 1940 and formerly under the name Coche-Bizouard, cultivates all the nobility of the great wines of Burgundy. Located in Meursault,, the estate has 12 hectares of vines spread over Meursault, Pommard, Auxey-Duresses, Monthélie, Saint-Romain, Saint-Aubin and Pulingny-Montrachet. Thus, he works all these wines with the same care, from the smallest cuvée to the most prestigious.
This family estate uses traditional methods for the production of its wines: vineyard work, maturing, bottling... each step is done in a way to guarantee an exceptional production. Preserving the nature of the soils is one of the main concerns of this winegrower who has been working organically for several years. It is thus quite naturally that the request for organic certification was made in 2020.
The advice 12bouteilles: Coming from an ideal vintage, this Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2020 will go perfectly with a duck breast stuffed with foie gras, barbecued prime rib or a roast veal à la provençale. We recommend serving it at a temperature between 14°C and 16°C for a better tasting.
