This Clos de Bellecroix red 2024 from the Rully appellation is made from 100% Pinot Noir, grown on a northeast-facing clay-limestone terroir. It is a 1.69-hectare monopole with an average vine age of 50 years. The vines are cultivated using sustainable methods, with the grapes harvested by hand in small crates. The estate destems 100% of the grapes, carries out pre-fermentation maceration, complete pumping over and racking, then ages the wine in vats.
Tasting notes:
Color: a bright, brilliant purple.
Nose: expressive, with concentrated aromas of cherries, blackcurrants, and raspberry jam.
Palate: Supple, very fruity and beautifully textured. Finish with aromas of dark chocolate and cedar.
12bouteilles advice: The recommended serving temperature for this wine is between 54°F and 59°F. It pairs perfectly with terrines as an aperitif, fish such as red mullet, or red or white meats that are not too strong.
Located in Chagny, north of the Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine de la Folie has 13 hectares of vines, including Rully 1er Cru Clos Saint Jacques, one of the most prestigious names in the appellation. The estate's wines express the elegance of the appellation, the finesse of the grape varieties (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay), the character of the vintage, and the freshness that is the estate's true signature.
