Bordeaux - Pessac-Leognan - 2nd Wine - White Wine -L’Esprit de Chevalier White 2022 is the second white wine of Domaine de Chevalier, a Classified Growth of Graves and a benchmark estate for dry white wines from Pessac-Léognan. Made from selected parcels and younger vines, it benefits from the same meticulous vineyard and cellar work as the Grand Vin. The well-balanced 2022 vintage delivers outstanding aromatic purity, freshness and refined texture.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: pale yellow with light golden highlights.
Nose: clean and expressive, showing ripe citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit), pear and white peach, complemented by floral notes, zest and a subtle smoky-mineral touch typical of Pessac-Léognan.
Palate: straight and elegant. A crisp, lively attack leads to a broad and silky mid-palate. Excellent balance between tension and roundness, with a long, saline and refined finish.
Terroir & Blend
The parcels dedicated to L’Esprit de Chevalier White lie on fine, deep gravel soils over clay-gravel subsoils, ideal for freshness and aromatic precision. The 2022 blend is dominated by Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by Sémillon, bringing texture, depth and aging potential.
Winemaking & Aging
Hand-harvested grapes with meticulous sorting. Gentle pressing, fermentation in barrels and vats with precise temperature control. Aged on fine lees in French oak barrels, with a measured proportion of new oak, adding complexity without masking fruit purity.
Food Pairings
Perfect with seafood, shellfish, grilled or sauced fish, creamy poultry dishes or soft cheeses. Serve at 50–54 °F (10–12 °C).
