Domaine André Brunel : Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Les Cailloux" rouge 2020
Rhone Valley - Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Red Wine -Châteauneuf-du-Pape: "Les Cailloux" red 2020 is a cuvée produced by the Domaine André Brunel. An exceptional cuvée, it takes its name from the countless rolled pebbles present in the vines, which are at the origin of the Domaine's name. Made up of numerous parcels, each one brings its own characteristics and gives the wine its incredible complexity. Composed of Grenache (70%), Mourvèdre (17%), Syrah (10%) and Cinsault (3%), this 2020 vintage is to be ranked alongside the great vintages of the appellation such as 2010 or 2016 for its aromatic complexity and its capacity to age.
Tasting notes:
The Robe: ruby red
Nose: dominant aromas of red fruits, enhanced by a woody note
The palate: Notes of red fruits, black fruits, melted and elegant tannins. Great length in the mouth with aromas of orange peel, notes of garrigue and white pepper
The advice of 12bouteilles: This wine can be drunk young to enjoy the freshness of the red fruit provided by the Grenache. However its potential will only start to express itself after a minimum of 5 years of keeping. To be served at a temperature of 15°C, it will perfectly accompany a red meat.
The Laurent Roumier Estate, located in Chambolle-Musigny, is part of the famous George Roumier estate, founded in 1924. Today Laurent Roumier, cousin of Christophe Roumier who runs the Domaine George Roumier, owns a dozen hectares of vines with an average age of 35 years and cultivated in a reasoned manner. The vineyard extends over different appellations of Burgundy: Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny, Bonnes-Mares and Clos Vougeot. The latter applies a traditional vinification to sublimate each grape variety and to highlight the richness of the terroirs of the domain.
