Delas : Crozes Hermitage Le Clos 2016

Le Clos 2016 is a great Crozes-Hermitage appellation wine from Maison Delas. This vintage is a plot selection. The grapes come exclusively from the Clos located on the plain of Chassis, left bank of the Rhone. This wine is made only in the great years and its production is voluntarily limited to 7,000 bottles (75 cl) per year. Varietal: 100% Syrah
Tasting note:
The color is deep, ruby red with garnet hues. The nose develops aromas of black fruit compote (blackcurrant, blackberry) and presents with the evolution, slight notes of leather and venison. In the mouth, the wine reveals, in a perfect balance, a lot of delicacy, amplitude and suavity. The finish ends with notes of very ripe black cherries.
The structure of this wine, as well as its aromatic persistence, give it a real aging potential
Rated 91-93/100 by Jeb Dunnuck :
The 2016 Le clos comes mostly from a single parcel of older vines. It offers terrific notes of cassis , black raspberries, toasted spice and dried flowers. With Medium to full bodied from richness terrific purity and ripe tanins. It's one of the undeniable successes of the vintage
Rated 90-92/100 par Robert Parker :
Espresso and black olive notes mark the nose of the 2016 Crozes Hermitage le Clos, which is still in barrel. Hints of crushed stone, black cherries and plums give this serious Crozes a real dose of complexity, while it still maintains the suppleness and approachability of the vintage.
Le conseil de 12bouteilles : A great parcellary wine from the Rhone Valley to discover urgently, a great wine at reasonable price to discover the know-how of the Delas house. Perfect to accompany a game of water, an assortment of grilled meats, marinated meats or poultry
