Delas : Crozes Hermitage 2016, Domaine des Grands Chemins

Domaine des Grands Chemin 2016 is a great Crozes-Hermitage appellation wine from Maison Delas. This wine is made from grapes coming exclusively from the Domaine des Grands Chemins. The plots are all located on the terraces of the "Chassis", at the confluence of Rhône / Isère. The breeding is conducted for fourteen months in barrels of 1 to 2 years.
Tasting note:
The color is deep, garnet color with violet hues. On the nose, aromas of black fruit compote (black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant) combine with smoky and liquorice notes, typical of the Chassis sector. On the palate, the "serious" combines with the "greed": the attack reveals freshness and vivacity. The material is dense, fleshy, almost silky. The balance is real. A complex wine, rich and faithful to the terroir of origin of the Domaine des Grands Chemins.
The structure of this wine, as well as its aromatic persistence, give it a real aging potential.
A great wine rated 91-93/100 by Jeb Dunnuck
The 2016 Domaine de Grands Chemins is even better. Plums, Blackberries, peppery herbs, and earth dive way to a broad, expansive, beautifully textured Syrah that has sweet tannin and great mouthfeel. It's going to drink nicely through 2026.
A great wine rated 90-92/100 by Robert Parker
The medium-bodied 2016 Crozes Hermitage Domaine des Grands Chemins stays true to the vintage character of charm and accessibility. It's supple, easy to drink, and its combination of pain grillé, black cherries and licorice add up to being just outright fun.
The advice of 12bouteilles : A great parcellaire wine from the Rhône Valley to discover urgently, a great wine at a light price to discover the house Delas. Perfect to accompany grilled red meats and dishes in sauces, open 1 hour before tasting.
