Château Cos d'Estournel 2008
An impressive bottle, a very deep red, beautiful aromas of black fruits. In the mouth, the wine is strikingly balanced, body, texture, but above all a superb harmony.
Saint Estèphe but not too much, this bottle is a marvel, a kidney of veal, a tournedos, cepes ... open it, carafe it, serve it on a gourmet dish a winter evening. Even if it's still young, do not wait too long, it's a real nugget to drink in three years (2017-2020).
About the Château Cos D'Estournel:
The legendary story of Cos d'Estournel takes its name from the word "cos" which designates the stony hill. Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel heir to 12 hectares of vineyards on the top of the mound, decided to buy the whole hill after being upset by the first wines they had drawn. The heir loved symbols and mottoes, so the lion, symbol of strength and a unicorn, symbol of purity adorn the triumphal arch that greets the guests.
It is in 1855 during the imperial classification that Cos d'Estournel arrives at the head of Saint-Estèphe.
