Long considered as the second wine of the Château Léoville Las Cases, the Clos du Marquis is now a full-fledged estate. Property of the Delon family, the Clos du Marquis comes from the great terroirs of the Saint-Julien appellation that were not part of the cadastre of the former Domaine de Léoville.

Made from 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and the rest of Cabernet Franc, aged in 50% new oak, this 2015 vintage has a good concentration and a wonderful aromatic freshness.

The Clos du Marquis 2016 is dark purple color which is followed by a complex nose of cassis, smoky earth, tobacco and pencil. With a full-bodied, ripe, concentrated, structured and impressive length, this vintage is to be kept in the cellar for at least 7 to 8 years.

Its mouth volume, precision and aromatic nobility now rival the best wines
