In this 2018 vintage, Clos des Fées Passat Minor is a rare treasure made from Muscat of Alexandria, harvested very late and partially dried on the vine. Here is our tasting note:
The Color: luminous, with superb golden highlights.
The Nose: intense and exotic, revealing aromas of candied fruits (quince paste, pineapple, mango) and fresh grapes, underscored by a delicate floral hint.
The Palate: broad and silky, offering sweetness supported by a fine acid backbone that ensures excellent balance. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a delightful fruity impression.
This 2018 vintage of Clos des Fées Passat Minor is made from 100% Muscat of Alexandria. The grapes, hand-harvested in late season, yield just a few drops of juice—but with remarkable intensity. The vinification process is inspired by great sweet wines, carried out entirely in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and minerality of the clay-limestone terroir. With an alcohol content of only 9.5%, this cuvée delivers a rare indulgence, evoking—in terms of its balance—the finest off-dry wines of Germany.
Elegantly crafted, Passat Minor 2018 is far from a heavy sweet wine: it charms with its aromatic richness and lightness, thanks to a perfect balance between sugar and acidity. A true gem of Roussillon, created by Domaine du Clos des Fées.
The 12bouteilles Advice: An original, refined sweet wine, best served around 8°C. Ideal with foie gras, blue-veined cheese (such as Roquefort), or fruit-based desserts (apricot, peach, sorbet). It can also be enjoyed on its own in a small glass. Its aging potential is at least 10 years, allowing even greater aromatic complexity to develop over time!
