Mendoza - Red Wine -Cheval des Andes 2022 is one of Argentina's greatest wines, the signature wine of Château Cheval Blanc in Mendoza, produced in collaboration with Terrazas de Los Andes.
Cheval des Andes, the Argentine expression of Château Cheval Blanc. Cheval des Andes, an Argentine Grand Cru, is the result of two cultures combining the vision and expertise of Château Cheval Blanc with high-altitude viticulture in the Mendoza region, where Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, subjected to a demanding climate, are blended at the foot of the Cordillera.
Among Argentina's great wines, Cheval des Andes is one of our favorites every year, and we are once again impressed by this 2023 vintage, which offers excellent value for money.
Cheval des Andes 2022 is the 23rd vintage of the estate, a vintage of maturity, a perfect blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Malbec, and 5% Petit Verdot. From the craftsmanship of Château Cheval Blanc to the creation of this cuvée at the foot of the Argentine mountains.
For this 2022 vintage, the wines are then aged in 225L Bordeaux barrels (40%), 400L barrels (35%) and 25hL casks (25%). These containers, 50% of which are new for this vintage, come from several French cooperages (85%) in Bordeaux and Burgundy, and Austrian cooperages (15%).

Nose: A bouquet of bright fruits—raspberry, blueberry, and delicate blackcurrant—complemented by notes of bay leaf and mint, giving way to a hint of ash and sweet pepper. Palate: With magnificent concentration, fine tannins and a slight creaminess, the 2022 has a firm but velvety structure, perfectly balancing the power of Cabernet and the roundness of Malbec. The finish is long, energetic and full of flavor. This is a wine of exceptional beauty.
