Tasting Notes
Appearance: deep ruby with purple highlights.
Nose: precise and expressive, showing blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry aromas, complemented by cedar, graphite, gentle spices and subtle toasty notes.
Palate: broad, straight and elegant. Dense yet beautifully balanced core supported by fine, ripe tannins. Saint-Julien freshness provides tension and length, leading to a long, harmonious and persistent finish.
Terroir & Blend
The vineyards of Château Talbot lie on deep Garonne gravels overlooking the Gironde estuary, ensuring excellent drainage and even ripening. The 2022 blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot, delivering structure, complexity and balance.
Winemaking & Aging
Hand-harvested grapes with meticulous sorting. Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled vats with carefully managed macerations to preserve aromatic finesse and tannin quality. Aged in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new oak, seamlessly integrated.
Food Pairings
Perfect with grilled or roasted red meats, dry-aged beef, rack of lamb, fine poultry or refined sauced dishes. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant for 1–2 hours when young.
