Château Suduiraut 2022 is one of the historic benchmarks of the Sauternes appellation, classified as a First Growth in 1855. Owned by the AXA Group, the estate benefits from exceptional terroirs of sandy gravels over clay-limestone subsoils, ideally influenced by the Ciron River, essential for noble rot development. The 2022 vintage, shaped by favorable conditions for consistent botrytisation, delivers a Sauternes of remarkable purity, combining richness, freshness and aromatic precision.
Appearance: bright golden color with amber highlights.
Nose: intense and refined, revealing dried apricot, mango, roasted pineapple, acacia honey and white flowers, complemented by subtle notes of candied citrus and gentle spices.
Palate: broad and silky. The liqueur is rich yet perfectly balanced by vibrant freshness, bringing tension and energy. The finish is long, pure and persistent, marked by candied yellow fruit and an elegant saline touch.
The vineyards of Château Suduiraut lie on sandy gravel soils that promote drainage and berry concentration. The 2022 blend is dominated by Sémillon, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc, delivering richness, aromatic complexity and freshness.
Hand-harvested grapes through successive passes to select only perfectly botrytised berries. Gentle pressing and fermentation in barrels. Aged in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new oak to refine the wine while preserving terroir expression.
Excellent as an aperitif, with foie gras, blue cheeses, fruit-based desserts or subtly spiced Asian cuisine. Serve at 46–50 °F (8–10 °C).
Château Suduiraut 2022 is an elegant, age-worthy Sauternes, already delicious thanks to its superb balance. It will evolve beautifully over 20–40 years, gaining depth and complexity.
