Château Soleil 2005

12bouteilles discovered the Château Soleil 2005 at the first wine tastings in Saint Emilion.
This is a magnificent wine, from a property owned by Stéphan Von Neipperg, owner of Château Canon la Gaffelière, the first Grand Cru Classé of Saint Emilion.
The care given to this property is of the same level as the other properties of the family, the wine is vinified with the same quality requirements. Another proof that a great wine is not necessarily a expensive wine!
Château Soleil 2005 is a powerful, long-lasting wine with a firm attack and lots of fruit. Today, after 10 years of aging, the wine is absolutely delicious to drink, the tannins are melted, the wine has reached its maturity and it is a pleasure to taste on a grilled meat.
The Château Soleil is one of the best wines of the Puisseguin Saint Emilion appellation, satellite of Saint Emilion.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Open 1 hour before serving it, serve it cool around 18 ° C. To taste on a red meat, a steak will be perfect
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate review: « Soleil’s 2005 displays a gaudybouquet of black currant fruit and roasted Provencal herbs, a flat, fleshy texture, decent acidity and sweet tannin … »
