How marvelous this 2008 Château Pontet Canet, 5th Classified Growth of Pauillac, managed by Alfred Tesseron who converted the vineyard to biodynamics
2008 is a landmark year at Pontet-Canet on several points:
It represents the renewal of biodynamics. We are at the service of the vine, we do not lead it, we help it. Thanks to the use of natural products and plants, we have gained in precision. 3 years later, we will be the first Grand Cru Classé in 1855 to have dual organic and biodynamic certification.
Everything in Pontet-Canet is centered on the method of cultivation. We help the vine to go through its complete cycle naturally, without trimming or green harvesting, so that it finds its natural balance. For the first time in over 40 years, we heard the tread of workhorses on the property again, for an experiment designed to remove soil compaction. Today, 13 horses make over 50% of the estate and we are heading towards 100%. This makes Pontet-Canet the largest vineyard in the world worked on horseback.
2008: This special edition box is intended to accompany our customers for the end of the year celebrations. The 2008 Vintage is a mature wine, ready to drink, revealing all its aromas. Endowed with gourmet tannins, this wine confesses a vibrant character and seduces with its emotional dimension. The terroir of Pontet-Canet is expressed!
