Château Pedesclaux 2022 is an elegant, refined and structured expression from Pauillac in a well-balanced vintage. As a Fifth Growth classified estate, this wine offers pure aromatics, dense core and finely grained tannins perfectly integrated. It marries controlled power, saline freshness and aromatic finesse for a beautifully harmonious tasting experience.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: deep, brilliant purple.
Nose: precise and expressive with blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry, complemented by cedar, graphite, fine spices, blond tobacco and subtle floral hints.
Palate: broad, structured and elegant. Dense yet composed core supported by velvety tannins. Saline freshness typical of Pauillac brings tension and length to a long, precise, persistent finish.
Terroir & Blend
Pauillac’s deep gravel soils over clay-limestone subsoils provide optimal drainage and promote even ripening. Blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a touch of Petit Verdot, providing complexity, structure and aging potential.
Winemaking & Aging
Hand-harvested grapes with strict sorting. Parcel-by-parcel vinification with long, controlled macerations to extract depth and finesse. Aged in French oak barrels with a carefully calibrated proportion of new oak to enrich structure without overshadowing fruit purity.
Food Pairings
Perfect with grilled or roasted red meats, dry-aged steak, rack of lamb, game birds or refined sauced dishes. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant for 2 hours when young.
