In this 2019 vintage, Château Pape Clément red is a balanced, powerful and rich wine with a lot of freshness.
The grapes produced were ripe, rich and very aromatic.
To the eye, the color is ruby red, almost black with purple reflections.
On the nose it is a mixture of black fruits and spices that emerge
On the palate, the attack is frank, all in roundness, fruity and harmonious ending with silky tannins.
Blend : 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot.
Ageing : 90% in new French oak barrels, 10% in tuns.
The advice of 12bouteilles : Forget this bottle for a few years in your cellar, it will improve with the years. If you decide to taste it, decant it at least 6 hours before tasting it, serve the wine chilled around 16-16°c. It will go perfectly with your red meats, game meat and cheese platters.
In Pessac Léognan appellation, you could also like Châteaux Haut-Brion, la Mission Haut-Brion, Carbonnieux, Haut-Bailly, Malartic-Lagravière, Latour-Martillac, Smith Haut-Lafitte, Domaine de Chevalier, les Carmes Haut-Brion...
