Half a century after the legendary 1961 vintage, Château Palmer 2011 is distinguished by its very low yields: twenty hectoliters per hectare, a historic low in its time.
A singular vintage
Atypical on the scale of the Left Bank, Château Palmer 2011 frees itself from the sunny and early mark of the vintage to anchor itself deeply in its terroir, matching frank acidity and tannins of extreme precision. Forty years after the little-known 1971, an unhoped-for miracle of grace and balance, it joins the short list of singular wines, pulling their weight in complicated conditions.

An aesthetic and powerful wine, made for great ageing, Château Palmer 2011 is now coming out of its reserve phase to reveal the first keys to reading it. Its characteristic velvety texture, draped in a fleshy and generous structure, deploys notes of fresh spices and precious woods that resonate with strength. From the top of this first ten-year peak, this promising 2011 has not finished delivering itself...

Since 2010, Chateau Palmer has been carefully storing a significant portion of its production in the property's historic cellar. In 2020, Palmer is inaugurating a new highlight: the second and final release of a vintage ready to be tasted, after ten years of careful monitoring at the château. This year the 2011 vintage is available.
