Château Mouton Rothschild 2014

Bordeaux - Pauillac - 1er Cru Classé - Red Wine -

Château Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac's Premier Cru Classé, is a major estate in Bordeaux, producer of very fine wines.

The labels of Château Mouton-Rothschild have the distinction of being illustrated each year by an artist. The illustration of the 2014 vintage was entrusted to the English painter David Hockney, he was a personal friend of the owner, the Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, disappeared that year.

This 2014 vintage blend, 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc, is adorned with a red robe with violet hues.

The nose, fine and distinguished, suggests a great maturity of the fruit, with beautiful notes of spices and vanilla.

On the palate, the attack is velvety, ripe and unctuous, with silky, firm tannins that coat a satiny texture with a touch of minerality.

The finish, complex, fresh and opulent, is very long.

The advice of 12bouteilles: To be tasted now or to be preserved until 2046, Château Mouton-Rothschild must be decanted at least 1 hour before serving.
