In this 2019 vintage, Château Montrose is a tannic, balanced, powerful and rich wine with a lot of freshness.
The grapes produced were ripe, rich and very aromatic.
To the eye, the color is ruby red, almost black with purple reflections.
On the nose it is a mixture of black fruits and spices that emerge then there are woody and vanilla aromas.
On the palate, the attack is frank, all in roundness, fruity and harmonious ending with powerful tannins.
Blend : 64% , 30% , 5% and 1% Petit Verdot.
Ageing : 90% in new French oak barrels, 10% in tuns.
Château Montrose also produces a second wine: la Dame de Montrose 2019.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Forget this bottle for a few years in your cellar, it will improve with the years. If you decide to taste it, decant it at least 6 hours before tasting it, serve the wine chilled around 16-16°c. It will go perfectly with your red meats, game and cheese platters.
