Nice success for this lady of Montrose 2013 in a vintage that we know difficult.
Traditionally more Merlot than Cabernet Sauvignon, in this vintage the Cabernets were perfectly walled and were the basis of the blend with 70% of the latter.
Château Montrose considers that this 2013 vintage is comparable to the 1998 vintage and is among the best produced vintages.
Dame de Montrose 2013 is a harmonious and balanced wine, its color is ruby red. The nose is dominated by woody notes and red fruits. Very fruity on the palate (blackcurrant, blackberry), vanilla (new wood) then liquorice, it is quite interesting and complex. The finish has a lot of finesse with a nice length.
It is already delicious to drink now and can keep up to a good ten years.
The advice of 12bouteilles: It is necessary to decant this wine at least one hour before the tasting, to serve it cool around 17 °. It will go well with your red meats and cheeses.
