Château Latour 2019 is yet another exceptional vintage. Tasting notes are unanimous, with the 2019 vintage receiving a perfect score of 100/100 from Lisa Perrotti-Brown of Wine Palate, Robert Parker, and Jeb Dunnuck. It's an extraordinary wine, a must-have in any cellar!
About the 2019 vintage:
Nurtured by a cool, wet spring, the vines developed harmoniously, benefiting from a uniform and abundant flowering. The summer, hot and dry but not excessively so, generated moderate water stress and guided the grapes towards perfect, full ripeness, resulting in a beautiful aromatic expression.
In September, the cool temperatures and the excellent health of the vineyard enhanced the richness of this expression. As harvest time approached, a welcome rain perfected the balance and provided ideal extraction of polyphenols.
From these generous conditions emerged an equally generous wine: ample, precise, and luscious, supported by an elegant structure. Its remarkable balance makes it approachable in its youth while also ensuring excellent aging potential. A complete and accomplished wine.
Harvesting and blending:
The harvest took place from September 13th to 23rd for the Merlot, and from September 21st to October 5th for the Cabernet Sauvignon, under ideal weather conditions. The 2019 vintage is a blend of 92.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7.5% Merlot.
Tasting notes:
Appearance: Dark, intense color.
Nose: Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and sourced exclusively from the historic Enclos vineyard, Château Latour 2019 offers intense aromas of blackcurrant, graphite and cedar, with remarkable depth and structure.
The palate: A majestic and intense wine full of complexity. A classic Latour, with a balance and precision that will allow it to age for decades.
12bottle tip: Serve between 16°C and 18°C and decant 2 hours before tasting, it's the perfect accompaniment to fine red meats.
A 95-hectare vineyard, Château Latour is located in the heart of the Médoc, around 50km from Bordeaux. Premier Grand Cru classé in 1855 in the Pauillac appellation, according to the official classification, it stands at the pinnacle of Bordeaux's great wines.
