Haut-Médoc de Giscours 2019 is a wine produced by the prestigious Château Giscours, a Third Growth classified estate in Margaux. Crafted from vineyards located within the Haut-Médoc appellation, this cuvée reflects the elegance and refinement associated with the Giscours style while offering an approachable and fruit-driven profile.
The excellent 2019 Bordeaux vintage delivers a balanced and expressive wine combining ripe fruit, refined tannins and freshness typical of the Left Bank.
Appearance: deep ruby red with garnet reflections.
Nose: expressive aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry, complemented by notes of cedar, spice and tobacco.
Palate: elegant and balanced with silky tannins and vibrant freshness. The wine shows good structure and a persistent finish with fruit and spice nuances.
Haut-Médoc de Giscours 2019 is produced from a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 39% Merlot. The vines grow on classic Médoc gravel soils which provide excellent drainage and optimal ripening conditions.
The vineyards lie between Giscours and Cantemerle and are vinified with the same care as the estate’s grand vin.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats with around 35 days of maceration. The wine is then aged for approximately 12 months in oak barrels, adding structure and aromatic complexity.
Serve between 60–64°F (16–18°C). Decanting for about one hour is recommended.
Haut-Médoc de Giscours 2019 is an elegant and approachable Bordeaux reflecting the style of Château Giscours. Enjoyable today for its generous fruit and supple tannins, it can also age gracefully in the cellar.
