Bordeaux - Pomerol - Red Wine -Château Gazin 2022 is a powerful yet refined expression of the Pomerol appellation in an outstanding vintage. Located on Pomerol’s renowned clay-gravel plateau, the estate delivers a wine of impressive aromatic depth, combining ripe fruit concentration, velvety structure and remarkable freshness. A classic, age-worthy Pomerol with elegance and intensity.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: deep, dark purple with brilliant highlights.
Nose: intense and complex, revealing ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry), complemented by fresh truffle, cocoa, sweet spice and subtle floral nuances.
Palate: broad, rich and enveloping. Silky tannins are perfectly integrated into a dense, fleshy core. Excellent balance between richness and freshness leads to a long, persistent and elegant finish.
Terroir & Blend
Pomerol’s clay-gravel soils with deep clay layers are ideally suited to Merlot. The blend of Château Gazin 2022 is largely dominated by Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, adding structure, complexity and aging potential.
Winemaking & Aging
Hand-harvested grapes with meticulous sorting. Parcel-by-parcel vinification in temperature-controlled vats with carefully managed macerations to preserve fruit purity and tannin finesse. Aged in French oak barrels for around 18 months, with a balanced proportion of new oak, seamlessly integrated.
Food Pairings
Perfect with beef fillet, dry-aged steak, rack of lamb, roasted poultry, refined sauced dishes or aged cheeses. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant 1–2 hours when young.
