Château de la Négly : L'Ancely 2018

Languedoc - Vins de La Clape - Red Wine -

The Ancely 2018 is a sublime cuvée of Château de la Négly where it reveals itself in the glass thanks to an intense nose with empyreumatic notes but also aromas of red fruits complemented by notes of garrigue.
The color is ruby red and intense.
The nose combines aromas of kirsch, mocha, cocoa and sweet spices.
The palate reveals a rich, dense wine with silky tannins. The tasting is accompanied by notes of ripe fruit and ends with a roasted finish. This wine is powerful and racy with a beautiful persistence.

The 2018 "L'Ancely" plot is a wine produced by Château de la Négly in the La Clape PDO appellation. It is made from a blend of three grape varieties: the Mourvèdre (70%), Grenache (20%) and Syrah (10%)

The Château de la Négly is located in Occitanie, facing the Mediterranean Sea, in the massif of La Clape. Thanks to an exceptional privileged geographical situation, a unique alchemy of the elements takes place: caressed by the sea spray, tossed between the Tramontane and the sea wind, this sun-drenched land captures the heat to warm the grapes which are gorged with golden light.

This vineyard has a surface of 70 hectares of vines where several families have succeeded each other at the head of the domain. The Paux-Rosset family will definitively direct the vineyard towards a qualitative production in integrated agriculture. The cultivation method was modified and the vines were entirely re-seeded. Moreover, with the help of the oenologist Mr. Claude Gros, they decided to completely review the entire wine-making process by turning to sustainable agriculture.

The wines of their terroirs are renowned for their iodized character with a lot of freshness, minerality and race. The whites are subtle and of great aromatic finesse. The reds are greedy, dense and complex. The main grape varieties for the reds are Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah which is predominant in our region. For the whites, they mainly grow Bourboulenc, Clairette, Marsanne and Roussane.

The advice 12bouteilles: It will be ideal to accompany this wine with a magnificent piglet on the spit, a rib of beef or lamb chops. For a better tasting, it is advised to decant it before drinking it and to taste it between 6 and 10 years.
