A benchmark property on the Left Bank, renowned for consistency and classic style, Chasse-Spleen is rooted in deep gravel soils mixed with clay and sand, delivering structure, freshness and aromatic precision. The well-controlled 2022 vintage produces a dense, refined and beautifully balanced wine.
Appearance: deep garnet with purple highlights, brilliant.
Nose: expressive and elegant, revealing blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry and plum, complemented by graphite, fine spices, cocoa and subtle oak.
Palate: broad and structured, with a dense yet refined core supported by ripe, firm and perfectly integrated tannins. Natural freshness brings lift and length to a long, harmonious and persistent finish.
The vineyards of Château Chasse-Spleen lie on several deep gravel mounds in the heart of Moulis-en-Médoc, promoting slow and even ripening. The 2022 blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot, providing structure, depth and aromatic complexity.
Hand-harvested grapes with meticulous sorting. Parcel-by-parcel vinification in temperature-controlled vats with carefully managed macerations to preserve fruit purity and tannin finesse. Aged in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new oak, seamlessly integrated.
Perfect with roasted or grilled red meats, beef fillet, rack of lamb, game or refined sauced dishes. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant for 1–2 hours when young.
Château Chasse-Spleen 2022 is a classic, age-worthy Médoc wine combining power and elegance. Enjoyable now with aeration, it will evolve gracefully gaining complexity and refined tertiary nuances.
