Château Canon 2017

Bordeaux - Saint-Émilion - 1er Cru Classé - Red Wine -

Château Canon, a 1er Grand Cru Classé B de Saint Émilion, Château Canon, owned by the Wertheimer family (Maison Chanel) since 1996, is situated on exceptional soil. It covers an area of 34 hectares in a single block on the outskirts of the village of Saint-Émilion, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Like its neighbour Clos Fourtet, Château Canon's wine storehouses are located under the vineyards in cellars. The grape varieties are 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc with 25-year-old vines.

Château Canon 2017 is a magnificent Saint-Emilion wine.

Jeb Dunnuck Tasting Notes: 97/100
Located within the Saint-Emilion appellation, Château Canon is characterized by the velvety and silky style of its wines. Renowned for their finesse and elegance, this cru benefits from an exceptional aptitude for aging which brings the reputation of its wines to the highest level. This 2017 opens with the most astonishing scent of violet, red rose and kirsch, giving way to aromas of black cherries, boxes of chocolate, liquorice, candied plums and spices. On the palate, the superbly ripe and extremely fine tannins of this 2017 bring a whole new level of sophistication. Well done!
