The nose is expressive, a concentrate of red fruits and black fruits then a very elegant woodiness takes over.
The mouth is generous, fleshy and greedy. A frank attack, the texture of the mid-palate is enveloping and reveals a precise tannic structure.
Blend: Merlot (74%), Cabernet Franc (26%)
Ageing: 18 months in new French oak barrels
Château Canon, a 1er Grand Cru Classé B de Saint Émilion, Château Canon, owned by the Wertheimer family (Maison Chanel) since 1996, is situated on exceptional soil. It covers an area of 34 hectares in a single block on the outskirts of the village of Saint-Émilion, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Like its neighbour Château Clos Fourtet, Château Canon's wine storehouses are located under the vineyards in cellars.
