Tasting Notes
Appearance: deep garnet with ruby highlights, brilliant and dense.
Nose: refined and expressive, revealing blackcurrant, black raspberry, sour cherry, complemented by floral notes (violet), graphite, gentle spices and subtle oak.
Palate: broad and silky, with a dense yet extremely refined core supported by very fine, elegant and perfectly integrated tannins. Margaux freshness brings lift and length to a long, delicate and refined finish.
Terroir & Blend
The vineyards of Château Boyd-Cantenac lie on fine deep gravel soils of the Margaux plateau, particularly suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2022 blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc, delivering structure, aromatic finesse and excellent aging potential.
Winemaking & Aging
Hand-harvested grapes with meticulous sorting. Traditional vinification with long, carefully managed macerations to extract noble tannins without hardness. Aged in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new oak, seamlessly integrated to preserve the wine’s natural finesse.
Food Pairings
Perfect with roasted or grilled red meats, rack of lamb, pigeon, fine poultry or refined gastronomic dishes. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant for 1–2 hours when young.
