Burmester, Tawny 40 year old with box
Porto - Douro - Red Wine -This 40 year old Tawny Porto is from the Burmester family, famous for their old vine wines. It is a true classic of the region and has gained worldwide recognition by perfecting its wine blending process and is a magnificent example of its know-how.
Produced from the slopes of "Vinha Ao Alto" and aged in barrels which gives it its orange color (Tawny). The wines are methodically shaped to accentuate their colors and aromas, enhanced by stirring during fermentation at a controlled temperature (28 and 30°C) until the degree of sweetness is reached.
Tasting notes :
The dress: A bright brown color with greenish tints, hence its appellation,
The nose: reveals intense aromas of dried fruit, delicate notes of spices and sweet notes of honey.
The palate: it is full, smooth and velvety. This wine exudes attractiveness and great charm, which continue into a long and complex finish.
Serving suggestions for 12 bottles: It will go perfectly with desserts, fruit but also with mild cheeses such as "compté" or "reblochon".
