La Soufrandière: Pouilly-Fuissé "En Chatenay" cuvée zen 2021
Burgundy - Pouilly Fuissé - White Wine -This Pouilly-Fuissé "En Chatenay" cuvée Zen 2021 is one of the great cuvées produced by the Domaine de la Soufrandière. With a total surface of 0.69 ha and located on a magnificent combe, at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson, the plot of Chardonnay benefits from ideal soil and exposure, which gives juices of great freshness, tense and perfectly balanced. This confidential cuvée (between 900 and 1500 bottles/year) is entirely vinified without sulphur until the bottling, during which there is a very low addition of 20mg/L to stabilize the wine. This is what the domain calls the "Cuvée Zen".
Tasting notes:
The robe: light yellow with bright reflections
The nose: aromas of citrus fruits, and white flesh fruits (peach) with more buttery and jammy notes
The palate: frank attack, the mouth is complex, both greedy and mineral, the end of mouth is of an impressive length and complexity
12bouteilles' advice: A great Burgundy wine which will sublimate a plate of cooked pork meats, white meat, or a fatty fish (salmon), to be served around 12°C- 13°C
The Domaine La Soufrandière is a reference in the field of winemaking in the Mâconnais region of Burgundy. Founded in 1999 by the Bret brothers, this family estate extends over twenty hectares of vines cultivated in biodynamic agriculture. Their wines, made from Chardonnay, perfectly reflect the expression of the terroir and are recognized for their high quality.
