Burgundy - Saint Véran - White Wine -The 2020 vintage is both a sublime and promising year for white Burgundy. The harvest has however suffered many climatic hazards and mainly very dry and hot periods leading to high concentrations of sugars and even roasting on some berries. The overall quality of the harvest has not been altered however, the fruit having been harvested at maturity and in a very good sanitary state. Marked by a great heterogeneity, the 2020 vintage reflects the diversity of the Burgundian vineyard. The Chardonnays are expressive, complex and very fresh... a classic year for the king of Burgundy white grapes.
The Saint Véran climat " La Bonnode " 2020 is a plot of land Domaine de la Soufrandière. A parcel of 2ha in total, all in one piece and adjacent to La Combe Desroches. The vines are exposed to the East at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson. An idyllic setting that is both privileged and protected making biodynamic practice "easy".
Tasting comments:
The robe: golden with light green reflections.
The nose: notes of citrus fruit (grapefruit, lemon) and white flowers
The mouth: fresh, lively, balanced, mineral while keeping a greedy side
The 12bottle advice:
Sublime with fish, a seafood platter or even white meat, serve around 12°C.
