Champagne Bollinger - Côte aux enfants 2013 vintage

The Côte aux enfants is a red wine from the Bollinger house, a very large red wine from the mythical plot of AŸ.
Originally, it is the red wines that have made the Champagne vineyard famous. Favorite wines of Henri IV, the Pinots Noirs of the commune of Aÿ were the most prized at the court of France. The Côte aux Enfants comes from a steep plot near Aÿ. Jacques Bollinger patiently reconstructed it at the beginning of the 20th century, when more than fifty owners shared it! Bollinger is now owner of the four hectares in one piece of this locality. Since 2009, the vine is worked according to the principles of organic farming.
This vintage 100% Pinot Noir Grand Cru Aÿ enjoys a confidential production reserved for the greatest vintages. This 2013 vintage of the Côte aux Enfants has a good aging potential.
In a beautiful red-purple color, this 2013 vintage opens with aromas of currant, blackcurrant with hints of leather and dried figs after aeration.
The palate has elegant aromas of cherry brandy and cassis, complemented by delicate notes of pepper and clove. A final on cocoa and licorice.
The advice of 12bouteilles: The 2013 Côte aux Enfants is a connoisseur's wine, looking for the specialties of the Champagne Appellation. This wine is surprisingly concentrated and powerful. To highlight its unique style, its bouquet, its aromas, we advise you to decant the Côte aux Enfants 2013 a few hours before serving it at 16 ° C. You can enjoy it in the next five years to fully enjoy the expression of the fruit, or let it age in the cellar to experience other sensations of tasting ...
