The Vendimia Seleccionada de Mauro (VS) is the first of the great wines of Bodega Mauro.

The 2018 vintage was aged for 26 months in oak barrels and kept for 6 months before being released on the market in February 2021.

Mauro VS is produced only in great vintages from a selection of the best grapes from the best plots of the two vineyards located in the municipalities of Tudela de Duero and Traspinedo.

It is a small production, 43,362 bottles in the 2018 vintage.

It is a very great red wine with surprising power and fruit. Dense, full and deep, it is only produced when the vintage allows it, from a selection of the best grapes.

Mauro VS is a Spanish red wine grown in the Valley of Castile and Leon in the Bodegas Mauro area.

The winery is located in Tudela de Duero near Valladolid and its wine heritage dates back to 1562, when Philippe II dispensed it from its grape quality. The area of ​​the vineyards is different, covering an area of ​​80 hectares, planting mainly tempranillo and syrah. The dominant clay-limestone soils, with yields of between 3,000 and 5,000 kg per hectare. In the context of the harsh continental climate and poor forecasts, the vineyard is cultivated in an ecological manner.

Tasting note:

The color: clear and bright with a cherry color with garnet reflections.

The nose: We find aromas of red fruits, spices and woody notes.

On the palate: the wine is balanced, both energetic and elegant for a long and delicate finish.

The advice of 12bouteilles: Serve between 16 ° and 18 ° C. It will be delicious with a roast, cooked pork leg or veal with mushrooms. Be sure to open it at least 1 hour before serving.
