It is produced from a 65-hectare plot of clay-limestone soils with a southwestern exposure, above sea level. This gives the wine freshness and a good mineral character. The estate follows a philosophy based on ageing in large barrels able to preserve the exceptional integrity and fruit of the Sangiovese grapes and give this Brunello a typical vibrant elegance.

The robe: intense ruby red
The nose: complex with notes of ripe red fruits and hints of plums and dates; its bouquet is complemented by sensations of Mediterranean herbs, floral aromas of violets, a hint of spicy ginger and hot pepper chocolate
The palate: entry is soft and silky. An extremely pleasant wine that offers balance and harmony with a pleasant freshness that gives the wine length and richness of taste. Notes of liquorice and cocoa powder, as well as ripe red fruits, define its finish

The Pian delle Vigne estate is located 6 km west of the town of Montalcino and comprises 184 hectares, of which 65 hectares are planted with vines facing southwest, at an altitude of 130 meters above sea level. The estate has belonged to the Antinori family since 1995, the year of the first vintage of Brunello Pian delle Vigne.
