Proposed in Magnum size bottle (1,5 liter) Tignanello 2016 is a great Italian classic, produced in Tuscany by the Marchesi Antinori House. Tignanello is produced exclusively from the vineyard of the same name, a plot of approximately 57 hectares with soils rich in limestone and exposed to the southwest above sea level. The wine, originally called "Chianti Classico Riserva vigneto Tignanello "(a Chianti Classico Riserva from the Tignanello vineyard), was produced for the first time from a single plot in 1970. In 1971 it became a Tuscan red table wine rather than a Chianti Classico and was called Tignanello.
Tasting note:
The color: is a very intense ruby red color
The nose: a perfect balance of aromas of ripe red fruit, blackcurrant and blackberries combined with notes of chocolate and liquorice
Palate: Rich and full, the palate has lively and silky tannins. A vintage of great complexity with good length.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Tignanello 2016 is to keep for a few years before tasting at a temperature of 16 ° C. For a perfect match, serve it with a Mediterranean dish like Caponata.
