Mongeard-Mugneret: A Jewel of Burgundy's Terroirs
A family legacy rooted in Vosne-Romanée
Nestled in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, the Mongeard-Mugneret Estate stands as a benchmark in Burgundy winemaking. Since 1620, generations have passed down their passion and expertise, now embodied by Vincent Mongeard. The estate cultivates exceptional vineyards across prestigious appellations, with a deep respect for the terroir and sustainable viticulture. Grand Crus such as Richebourg, Grands Échézeaux, and Échézeaux reveal depth, elegance, and aging potential. Premier Crus like “Les Orveaux” and village appellations from Nuits-Saint-Georges and Savigny-lès-Beaune offer purity and balance, true to the essence of Pinot Noir.
The estate also produces refined white wines including a vibrant Bourgogne Chardonnay and a zesty Aligoté, ideal for seafood or as an elegant apéritif.
The vinification process combines tradition with modern techniques: hand-harvesting, cold maceration, precise fermentation, and aging in French oak barrels bring out the full character of each vintage. This approach results in wines of great finesse, expressive aromas, and outstanding structure.
Tasting, food pairings, and recommended vintages
Red wines from Mongeard-Mugneret display deep ruby hues, aromas of black fruits, spices, and forest floor, and a silky tannic structure. The whites impress with their freshness and notes of citrus and white flowers. Iconic cuvées like Richebourg pair beautifully with fine dishes such as beef Wellington, game, or mature cheeses. More approachable wines complement roasted poultry, mushrooms, or grilled fish.
Vintages like 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019 are especially appreciated for their balance, richness, and aging capacity. These remarkable wines are available on 12bouteilles, your go-to online wine merchant for Burgundy’s finest selections.
