A leading Languedoc estate rooted in tradition

Located at the base of the Pic Saint Loup mountain in southern France, Domaine de l’Ermitage is a benchmark for refined, terroir-driven wines. Since 1990, the Ravaille brothers have nurtured this estate with a clear vision: produce authentic wines that reflect the natural character of their land. Committed early on to organic and biodynamic farming, the estate focuses on low intervention, biodiversity, and respecting the living environment of the vines.

The vineyard’s soils are a mosaic of clay, limestone, marl, and schist, providing both richness and complexity. The Mediterranean climate, marked by hot days and cool nights, enhances aromatic precision and freshness in the grapes. Grapes are harvested by hand at dawn, preserving their quality and integrity, then carefully sorted and vinified with respect for the individual identity of each parcel.

Signature wines like Tour de Pierre and Sainte Agnès showcase the estate’s excellence. These blends of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre display vibrant fruit, spice, garrigue notes, and a balanced structure with exceptional aging potential. Sustainable viticulture and artisanal winemaking

Respect for nature is at the core of Domaine de l’Ermitage’s philosophy. Biodynamic practices, aligned with lunar cycles and natural rhythms, replace synthetic treatments with herbal preparations and compost. The soil is nurtured using manual or animal-powered work, ensuring harmony between the vines and their ecosystem. This approach yields expressive, healthy grapes—true reflections of their origin.

Each vineyard block is vinified separately to preserve its typicity. Fermentation occurs at low temperatures to retain purity and nuance. Oak aging in large foudres and selected French barrels adds depth without overshadowing the wine’s natural identity.
